Davcon 5g Anglia-Royal Persepoly (Persepolis) The Dale Sutton trained La Rocket proved too strong for his rivals over the concluding stages to win the inaugural running of the Spring Classic. Despite having his tenth start this campaign and his first try beyond 1800m, La Rocket relaxed beautifully for Stephen Baster and drew clear to win by just over a length. La Rocket is by Coolmore sire Rock Of Gibraltar and is the third winner for G1 VRC Mackinnon Stakes winner La Bella Dama. He is a half brother to the stakes placed Macau Causeway (Giant's Causeway). Posadas 7g Commands-Navidad (Christmas Tree) 3. Diplomatic Force 5g Oamaru Force-Talk It Over (Umatilla) Lucky Secret passed his latest test with flying colours after taking out the Listed Kevin Heffernan Stakes at Betfair Park Sandown. Lucky Secret was having his first crack at 1300 metres in the $100,000 event but showed his customary early dash for jockey Nash Rawiller to lead unchallenged, eventually winning by just over a length. Lucky Secret is by Rubiton and is a half brother to Hinting (Danzero), a winner of the G3 Tranquil Star Stakes. She was also runner up in the G1 Thousand Guineas. Won't Tell has a two-year old colt by Elusive Quality named Wolfstone.

Versarc 5m Verglas-Residual (Zeditave) 3. Dance Across 6m Giant's Causeway-Dancing Pago (Thunder Gulch) Royal Devotion recorded her biggest triumph to date in the Jungle Mist Classic at Ascot. The Verglas mare was ideally ridden by leading hoop Paul Harvey who had her midfield before unleashing a powerful finishing burst. Trainer Ross Price confirmed she would be set for feature fillies and mares races during the Perth Festival of Racing. Royal Devotion is one of two winners out of G2 WATC Cox Stakes winner Never Blue and she is a younger half sister to RJ Peters Stakes runner up Colour Correct (High Yield).

Shaaheq 2f Redoute's Choice-Damashino (Last Tycoon) 3. Sublime Girl 2f Encosta de Lago-Running Smooth (Marscay) Boom stallion Lonhro added another stakes winner to his resume after Secession scored a debut win in the Merson Cooper Stakes. Secession settled in the second half of the field before finishing hard down the outside under jockey Kerrin McEvoy to book himself a shot at the G1 Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) in February. Secession is the sixth foal for the stakes winning Walnut and is a full brother G3 AJC Kindergarten Stakes runner up Purdey.

Happy Hippy 3f Shamardal-Springburn (Soviet Lad) Patinack trainer John Thompson landed his first black type win when Marquardt broke through for a well deserved victory last Saturday. The Shamardal filly was having her first run at 1400m and the slower tempo allowed jockey Blake Shinn to have her parked midfield before collaring stablemate Happy Hippy in the concluding stages. Marquardt is the first foal for unraced mare Centrefold Angel who is a half sister to Listed Ballarat Cup winner McGuane (McGinty) and the stakes placed Pompeii Lady (Pompeii Court). The dam has a 2yo filly by Pins named Grabble and a yearling filly by Fast ‘n' Famous.

Secrets Untold 7g Sequalo-Untold (Balmerino) 3. Sam's Express 5g Anglia-Express Train (Green Line Express) A clever front-running ride by Brad Pengelly helped guide underrated galloper Our Lukas to victory in the Listed Brisbane Handicap. Our Lukas, who won the Listed Ipswich Cup in June, appeared to be headed by Sam's Express and Secrets Untold in the straight but fought back to narrowly hold off that pair. His trainer Rob Heathcote will now set the gelding for the Listed Bernborough Handicap on Boxing Day. Our Lukas is by Generous from a winning half-sister to the dam of Il Quello Veloce (Captain Rio) who was a G1 winner of the Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes in 2007. Parfore has an unraced 3yo named Frustrating (Stravinsky), a 2yo colt by Dubawi and a yearling colt by Darci Brahma.
